Surprisingly, this hotel is marked at 4 stars, but I can tell it's been transferred to a new management. There were a lot of issues when it came to staying here. First, it was cold in the room, and the receptionist didn't mention having a heater, just the fireplace. Which we couldn't even use due to not providing the gel containers for it.
I believe they don't clean the rooms either because we found a lot of dried-up nasty-looking food near the fridge and also right next to the bed and stains all over the walls and table.
The sofa chair the room provides had a bunch of nasty stains and smelled weird. While pregnant, I felt uncomfortable and nauseous being there. I'm expecting a refund

Went for Valentine's weekend and we're totally shocked on what we experienced. The managers Name was Adam. Was supercool on check in and informative. He let us know right away that the TV was not working properly because of the remote control. So he kindly discounted our first night. Also told us if we needed anything at all whether it be towels or whatever that he would take care of it. Well we quickly learned how cold the cabin was and outdated it was. We went to the office the next day and asked for more towels and a portable heater. His demeanor was totally different of that the night before. Needless to say everything he promised the night before went out the window. We had to buy an extra blanket and even a broom because of the floor having so much foot trash. Also no trash can or hand towels. The sofas were out dates and torn with the stuffing coming out. It was Gross. We bought Clorox wipes to wipe down these so called couches. I definitely don't recommend them or this property.

Unsafe and unsanitary living conditions. When we checked in our room blue jay Cabin was not cleaned yet so we waited while they “cleaned” it. We come to find out less than 12 hours in that there was a substantial amount of trash and RAT POOP behind the pull out bed, a ton of it. Then under bathroom and kitchen sinks was a soggy mold infested piece of wood holding a full pan of water partially catching the water. My husband demanded a refund which they promised to give us yet now they won’t at all answer the phone and they blocked his phone number. They gave us another room which was way cleaner but that initial experience with their lack of response (tried calling and visiting the front desk for hours) did not help our stress levels by that point. I had my small child crawling around on that ground also not knowing there was rat poop about a foot away tucked under the couch. People could get very sick from this!

This was our first time visiting and staying in Crestline. Overall it was an okay stay, however the pictures are bit misleading. It’s not really a group of cabins as you would imagine, it’s off a very busy road in the heart of town. Surrounded by asphalt and grouped very closely together. Everyone was nice enough however 90% of the people smoke cigarettes and that smoke blows into your “cabin”/ room and made our family very nauseous. There is some sketchy activity with some of the other people staying there and had my kids scared around 2-3 am that someone was trying to get in our window. Nothing happened however it’s just not something we’re use to. The cabin itself was fine, a bit dated but I knew that when looking at the pictures. The pool was green when we first got there but they had someone working on getting it fixed and we were able to swim on our last day. It’s very central to Lake Gregory and walking distance from Goodwin’s grocery which is a great store. I don’t think we’ll be staying there again just due to our personal preferences but if you need an affordable place to stay in Crestline for a day or two this isn’t the worst place you could go.
