I had to move for work, but the Las Casa apts was my home for 3 years. Not only is Myra the apartment manager amazing and helpful but they take good care of the property and it is a safe place to live.

Since you took time out of your schedule to read and respond at length to my concerns, I will respond to you. I got no pleasure from writing you a scathing review. If what I said does "not accurately reflect what you are striving for" would please make a liar out of me? In closing I want to say that, I do realize you are not responsible for the shootings that take place up the street - that sort of thing is out of your control completely, and from my vantage point you are just as much a victim as the rest of us.

I do really wish you well and Iook forward to removing my review sooner rather than later (because you are going to make a liar out of me.... I hope?)

I've lived here for many years. My neighbors, for the most part, are clean, quiet, and friendly.

Don't believe the photos. There is so much termite damage to the wooden structure and the trees that I'm surprised the buildings are still standing after earthquakes and that more trees haven't fallen on more cars. So far, only one tree fell on a car, but the other tree fell on the walkway.

The manager who used to work here was ALWAYS in the manager's office, rarely took time off, and that is definitely not the case now. It's common to see signs on the manager's office at 1pm, 'Will return at 3pm '... for a 2 hour lunch? I'll go back at 3 pm to find the office is closed for the rest of the day. It's not uncommon to find the manager is taking many days off so that you can't get access to the laundry card or pay your rent in person.

How come we can't pay our rent online? It would be a lot simpler.

How come the laundry card must be refilled in the manager's office? Oh yeah, because if it were in the laundry rooms, they'd get broken into (more often)? Who knows!

It's also common for the laundry dryers to break down and not get fixed for weeks and literally months.

The roofs are FINALLY replaced, which makes the apt much quieter on the inside, being a stone's throw from the 55 and 5 freeways. The roofers did an amazing job. I was very impressed with their work ethic.

The owner charges WAY too much for these Apts. The washers and dryers are 2 bucks a load each. And they are not new units. I heard the owners dad who used to own this place was a real gem and very kind man. Didn't overcharge, took really good care of this place. Hmmmm.

Lots of gang activity in the apts on Pasadena right up the street from las casas. Lots of tagging of apt walls.

It's also common to see animals that are not pets (if you know what I mean). I've seen trash diggers more often lately.

The maintenance crew... great!

Two gang related shootings (murders actually) on Pasadena up the street. One bullet went through one of the apts here. Fortunately, the unit was vacant at the time. So this area as a whole is NO place for young families especially.

The only good thing I can say about this place is I haven't seen any roaches for a while. Though I did see a dead one this morning outside.

Attitude makes a huge difference in life, and Mayra's attitude and actions make Las Casas Apartments shine. We looked at other "nicer" looking apartments around the immediate area, but building managers/agents showed up late, rescheduled last minute, had an indifferent attitude, saying, "I don't know. Look it up on the website," and not going above and beyond (for example, looking up the travel time between the apartment and work/school) is what ultimately made my fiancé and I proceed with Las Casas Apartments. I firmly believe in being in the company of people who, through their actions, show you that you matter. I understand if you want "nice looking," but if you want a home, meet Mayra because she treats you like you are home. Finally, I had the pleasure of meeting Judy and most of the building maintenance staff, who are also caring, amazing, and genuine people. Thank you, staff, for taking pride in your work.

I have really enjoyed living at Las Casas, and I would not be leaving except that I am purchasing a home. It is pristine, quiet and secure. Despite all of the activity of other apartment buildings, the freeway and the air traffic,it has a resort like atmosphere that makes you feel like you are on vacation as soon as you come home. The amenities, laundry room ,pool and small gym are just icing on the cake. The management is top notch. Any issues with your unit are promptly
attended to. It has been a haven and oasis for me and I encourage anyone who is looking for affordable living space to check it out. It's probably the nicest place I have lived since coming to SoCal over 34 years ago.

The property manager, Mayra, was excellent in facilitating our lease from day one. She was always available and always returned my calls. The property is very well maintained.

Mayra, who runs the facility, is helpful, friendly, and attentive. She is a delight. I never had a single issue with loud neighbors or the facilities being unkept or mismanaged. The one issue I had in my time of living here was my AC went out, and they replaced it within 2 days no questions asked. The maintenance crew does a great job.
