This is a beautiful guest house, but not worth the price we paid. We stayed in the days when the sun was blazing down in the valley to come to arroyo Grande and relax and cool off with the family as a summer vacation. The only place to cool off here is at the beach or wait until evening and sleep outside, but then you take the chance of getting bit by something, spiders, ants , water roaches, among other creepy crawling things in the back yard. The air conditioner in the house did not cool off the upstairs at all. That really made it hard to sleep cause all the bedrooms are upstairs. I would have left our windows open, but not a single window screen on any rooms, including the kids' rooms. DANGEROUS! The upstairs bathroom would clog up in the sink, just from brushing your teeth. The backyard patio furniture was left with crumbs from the previous tenants and were full of ants when we sat on them. We had to go buy our own bug spray. The picnic table had spider webs, and one of us was bit by a spider. When we arrived, the owners were there feeding their animals in the back. I felt like they were trying to see what kind of people were staying there. It's not a comfortable feeling. We sat on the living room sofa and had to take off the cushions because there was sand all over them. There were 2 towels per room, and the cabinets were marked private so as not to use more towels or linen. The washing machine had a horrible smell to it. We had to clean it ourselves with vinegar. The coffee maker is the cheapest thing they could buy. In the kitchen, we had to pour vinegar down the disposal cause it smelled like the sewer. It STUNK! Every morning I had to start by making two cups at a time, because coffee grains were all inside my cup. It was a big headache. I wasted so much coffee. Be AWARE, if you have a toddler this is not the kitcken for them, all the cabinets, including the one under the sink were exposed so the baby could get into it all. We constantly fought with the kitchen table. It's a picnic table, but it blocks the laundry room and it's difficult to move the bench. The frezzer was full of stuff, we couldn't put our own ice in there. Not to mention, the refrigerator had food in it. The extra pillows and blankets from the closet had an odor as if they had been sitting there for a while now. We also couldn't park our 3 cars on the driveway cause the owner has an old broken down vehicle taking up some of the carport. Also, you can not lock the door nob only the deadbolt, or you can't get back inside . Don't let the pictures on the website fool you. The backyard is not as big as it looks. You have to pay to use the pizza oven, and they have a cat that comes as he please. Oh yeah, you have to feed him too and watch out for the raccoon. That was probably the best part when the cat chased it away. I know I won't stay there again and I won't recommend anyone else stay there either. The owners care more about the animals than the care of their home and tenants. We were told to make sure and wash all the dishes. I have an emotional support dog who already 15 human years. She weighs about 5lbs. and has 3 teeth left. The owner wanted to charge me 200.00 dep for my pocket dog. I wonder if she ask for deposit from her racoon? The home is beautifully decorated and it's in a nice neighborhood but there's alot to be done by the owners who are not really involved. Seems to me, they let the maid do whatever cleaning she thinks needs to be done, but I don't think she's doing her job right. Dust and vacuum THAT'S ALL. GUEST CLEAN THE REST!
