We love the Outside Inn! The Cottage is perfect for our family. The kitchen and living room are cozy but with plenty of room to relax. We also love the fun outdoor themes of the other rooms. The property is beautiful year round with a summer pool and creek. Lovely short walk to the center of town. Owners and staff are great!

this is a gem in a perfect location. walk to all of the shops and restaurants in just a few steps. Access to a wonderful hiking and biking trail just across the street. A perfectly updated but nostalgic look back at the 50s motels. Managed by a delightful couple who will do anything reasonable to make you happy! this was our second stay and we’re coming back this summer to stay in the same room. We enjoyed the pool last summer and all the people who stay there seem to be part of our tribe.!

The outside inn is like stepping back into the best part of time. It's a classic motel style very family-friendly and the couple that owns it could not be more friendly or accommodating. All the little cottages are done in a different motif and each one is cozy for different reasons. They are all very well appointed. This is our second home whenever we visit Nevada City.

I agree with Eric's review 100%.
As the fires were raging in So Cal on Jan 8th, I called to cancel my reservation out of respect for their 3 day policy, and I didn't want to loose my 191.00.
The owner was so nice and said she would extend my visit day to day so I could still make the trip.
When I arrived and explained why I was visiting Nevada City, she got me all the maps, gave me dog towels and treats for my dog and gave me a very nice room for the night.
Thank you for making it easy for me to enjoy NC when So CA was burning. I live in WA state and was visiting So CA for the new year.

This is such a gem of an establishment! The owners are so kind and accommodating. I stayed in Room 3 (The Celestial Room) and it was so cute and cozy and really sweetly decorated. The location is great, just a very short walk from downtown Nevada City, thru a historic Victorian homed Street, with a beautiful little creek nearby. Nestled in a spot where you can really see a range of fall foliage. I would absolutely love to stay here again and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely Inn, lovely owners, great location only a few blocks from downtown. Perfect place for us and two pups. Suite was immaculate (not common for dog friendly rooms) and was so cutely decorated. Owners were accessible and happily and quickly responded to our requests. We'll be back!

Everything a delight. Comfy quiet room and grounds, great location near town and trails. Little touches of art, linens, coffee/tea, garden, fountain, trees. Each room with a personality. So convenient to walk to town for meals, coffee, unique shops. AND walks to trails. Was a stunning town for autumn leaves and 19th century architecture. Lovely owner couple greeted us upon arrival.

My stay at the Outside Inn was very comfortable. My room was quiet, and well appointed with a comfortable bed, kitchenette, and bath. I highly recommend the Inn for your next visit to Nevada City or Grass Valley.
