My Dad has been treated so well at Aegis. He expresses his thankfulness every day! I also feel comfortable that they take such good care of his needs, and are very responsive to anything that he or I need. He also talks about the quality of the food. And we love the new Chef! It has been a blessing to have him at Aegis!

We were looking for a beautiful, caring, safe community where my aunt could enjoy good food and friendly people. We felt that we found it with Aegis in Moraga. We visited many senior living communities in the Bay Area and out of all them, we were most impressed with the Aegis Living approach, and in particular Stephanie, who explained the services provided and gave us a tour of the facilities.

Stephanie earnestly tried to help us figure out how to best meet our 95 year old aunt’s needs (rather than Aegis’ or our’s), and to do so in the most dignified way possible. We appreciated her honesty and compassion when sharing relevant considerations about how she approached managing her own mother’s transition. When Stephanie described how important it was for Aegis staff to learn our aunt’s patterns to help mitigate falls and to provide appropriate incontinence care at night, we better understood the individualized care that was possible in assisted living. We were heartened when Stephanie earnestly helped us determine the right level of assisted living or memory care that would be most suitable for our aunt’s well being. And when she stopped during the tour to converse with a woman in the memory care area during our tour, she explained to us why that was important to the resident, and we realized then the depth of care and engagement with residents that was present among the staff at Aegis. While touring the facility, we could tell that Aegis truly cared about providing a community in which the residents there felt safe and surrounded by people who cared about them.

We could also see that Aegis had systems in place that made it easier on the families too, like Aegis ordering incontinence supplies so we wouldn’t have to bring them in, ways to check the Aegis medicine dispensing lists compared to prescriptions, etc. We were happy to discover a gem like Aegis, where the size of the facility, staff to resident ratio, and training reassured us that high levels of individual needs could be met and our aunt could live out her remaining days comfortably, happily and with as much dignity as possible.

I want to share our excellent experience with Aegis Living in Moraga, especially our time spent with marketing director, Stephanie Eukel.

We began our journey when we realised my mother-in-law was running out of money and could no longer afford her present assisted living situation.

We reached out to Aegis Living in Moraga for some general information and met Stephanie who talked us through the possible living scenarios available at Aegis. We found them to be affordable and available within our time frame so my husband and I arranged a tour of the facility and met Stephanie in person. She gave us a full tour of the grounds, rooms and restaurant and then sat down and answered our many questions. We found her knowledge about elder care and her wisdom about family dynamics to be most helpful.

With this super first impression fresh in our minds we told my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law all about Aegis, started the paperwork and arranged a visit for the four of us. The day of the visit, my mother-in-law, being 98 and not used to change, was understandably anxious. But all the staff were welcoming and friendly and Stephanie put her right at ease. We had a wonderful visit that included a tour and lunch where the chef came out to speak with us personally and who cooked something special for my mother-in-law. The food was excellent. By the time we left
(three and a half hours later!) we were all satisfied that Aegis was a great option for my mother-in-law's new home. Stephanie had treated us royally and given us so much of her time. We will be forever grateful to her and Aegis for showing us how great a well run assisted living facility can be.

Great place for our loved ones! As an outside agency service provider, I have seen a lot of assisted living communities. Specifically communities that incorporate memory care. The Team at Aegis is beyond amazing. From their compassionate care staff and nurses to the amazing food their chef makes, this is definitely where I would want to be. The residents are always happy and that can be contributed to the care that they receive. Great location, gorgeous community inside and out and great care for assisted living and memory care residents.

Beginning almost 18 months ago, my son and I began a search for a memory care facility for my wife of over 55 years. We visited quite a few top rated facilities and decided that we wanted her to be cared for at Aegis. There were two Aegis locations near us, but we selected Aegis of Moraga for its lovely setting.

During her stay at Aegis, she has received very caring and competent attention, particularly when she was experiencing psychotic episodes. All of the people there have been attentive and sensitive not only to her needs, but also to the needs of her entire family.

Working in a memory care facility is very difficult, but the aides and healthcare personnel have the rare ability to do their jobs with a smile even when the stress level is high. While memory care is very expensive, it has enabled me to continue living a relatively normal, healthy life. I cannot imagine another memory care facility that could be doing a better job than Aegis of Moraga.

My mother is well taken care of by the entire staff and magnagement of Aegis Moraga. The staff are kind, patient and helpful with her in the memory care unit. She is very happy and feels at home at Aegis. I am so glad that she lives there. I do not have to worry about her. I know she is safe in thier care.

I can't say enough great things about Aegis Living of Moraga! The community is beautiful and the team there takes great care of their residents. You can feel the warmth and caring environment right when you walk in. This is a definitely a 5 star senior living community!

We moved my father-in-law into Aegis in October of 2018. It was a sudden and unsettling move for him and the staff at Aegis could not have been more helpful with all of the adjustments needed. As others have mentioned, moving into assisted living/memory care can be a very difficult decision/transition for both the patient and the family and it is not a "one size fits all" solution. My father-in-law's care plan took a great deal of "tweaking" until things were stable (for now!) and the entire staff at Aegis, from the housekeeping, aides, food service, maintenance, front desk, activities, nurses, management, etc..., have all been incredibly helpful and accommodating to his situation. When we realized that he needed more one on one care, Aegis was very helpful in recommending agencies that could provide private aides to come in and assist. The combination has been very successful. The staff @ Aegis all address him by name and he loves taking part in the social activities, especially anything involving exercise, music and dancing!
Taking care of someone with severe dementia is no easy task and we are so grateful that this facility is right down the street, making it so convenient to visit often and to give us peace of mind on the days that we cannot be there. Clear communication and patience have been key factors in our experience and management has always been willing to sit down with us to discuss any of our concerns. My father in law feels very safe, comfortable and cared for and that's the best we can ask for at this point.
