We enjoyed our stay here. The accommodations are a bit rustic, yet charming and comfy. The owner is wonderful, his chickens are delightful and you know you are NOT in the city. The train is definitely an amenity that takes getting used to as citified people. We were in town for a family wedding and quite a few us stayed here. We were all happy with our rooms, chickens, peace and quiet. Oh, this is were Clint Eastwood filmed one of his movies.

From the moment I met Bink, I knew this Motel experience would be great. He was just wonderful! The setting for the Motel is gorgeous & maintained very well. It's just a hop, skip & a jump from the lake, if you are so inclined. The Motel was very clean & quiet, and the bed VERY comfortable. The room was a suite, I believe, and had A/C, mini-fridge, coffee maker, & TV. If I had any questions, Bink was always available & anxious to help. I LOVED my stay there, and would highly recommend to anyone!

I booked 3 rooms for 3 firefighters coming into give my group days off. Bink was very polite on the phone when making the reservations but when their flight was canceled and they weren't going to make it in that day I called at 9:40 the morning of their first night to cancel the rooms but was told that I would still have to pay for the 3 rooms since it was the day of check in. I understand this under normal circumstances but for firefighters we have plans change all the time and in my 6 years I've never had to pay for a room when a firefighters plans change.

We where visiting my wife’s family in the area and we had reservations 5 days in advance to our stay at the Hide Away motel. My wife and mother in law went to the motel around 3 to check in and was greeted by the owner of the place. Bink. I was’nt there so I can’t say what happened but the way my wife acted it was a very sour experience. As we went to the room. My wife mentioned that the parking was up the hill and that it was a small place for five vehicles. She parked and I said that she should scoot over and before we could move the owner was tapping on the window telling her to move over so others can park. She was irritated with me for making fun of her. She moved and he told her to move again. She got out and I parked the car. Me wife still irritated with me, we started to walk to the room as the owner chased after us say that he need to talk to us. Me being tired and my wife not happy with me I told “not now sir” I just wanted to go to the room un harassed. He said “ ok then I will give you your money back because I run a tight ship and she has a bad attitude. My wife and I never called names and never threatened he but he proceeded to get in my wife’s face. I then stepped in front of him. My 9 year old daughter and 2 year old son was so scared of the Bink that they were in tears. I tried to calm down and deal with the issue as Bink was saying that he was the owner and he could do what ever he wanted so don’t piss off the owner and I quote “ I don’t care what you say about me, everyone knows Bink because Bink is awesome”. At that point my wife, daughter and son was in tears and I felt at that point it was time to leave. I have never been treated so badly or disrespected so badly by any one. I don’t know the real reasons that he kicked us out but I think it is because we just wanted a room. We didn’t want the hole Bink experience. Those were his words. And I think because we had young kid. Not a family or kid friendly place. I can’t say anything about the room because my family and me were kick out before seeing it.

Very Clean, Comfy, Cozy, and Quaint. Located in rural California but close to Lake Almanor boating, fishing, and other recreational activities. Situated in the heart of Plumas County, so only 22 miles to Quincy, (County Seat) and just 25 miles to Chester. The Lassen Volcanic National Park is only 49 miles away. This is not a new motel, or a fancy motel, it is simple, easy going, laid back style lodging with Beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Bink is the owner and on site manager, and protects the interests of his guests like they are family. You will be safe and happy or just say something to him and he will do his very best to accommodate your specific needs, he does care greatly about every guest. Second time we've stayed here and it is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are little bit older but everything is very nice and cared for. There were deer in the front in the morning and chicken and a view that was amazing.

If I could give zero stars I would!!!! Firefighters in their town come in too late to be checked in. They are there saving your town!!!!! Keeping you safe keeping your business safe and you refuse to check them in!!!!!

From the moment we pulled in I was in awe! It was like a scene from Ann of Green Gables...serene, peaceful, lovely, and beautiful...this will definitely be a place we come back to again and again!!!
